XTC. Nonsuch

XTC. Nonsuch

1992

Simply my favorite XTC record. Nonsuch reads like a novel. It gets better with each song like a collection of short stories. Produced by Gus Dudgeon (Queen, Elton John, Bowie) who was eventually fired by Andy and replaced by Nick Davis (Genesis) to finish engineering. The ornate castle on the cover is reference to "Nonsuch," a palace built by Henry VIII atop a razed village. Nonsuch was mixed at Rockfield Studios, Wales. Nominated for a grammy ('93) and topped the College Radio Charts.
