Tom Waits’ magnum opus Rain Dogs swings with pirate swagger and eerie theatricality. The opening track, "Singapore," takes you to a rum-soaked dockside with a swing that’s equal parts shanty and jazz. "Clap Hands" oozes swampy voodoo, while "Cemetery Polka" feels like it danced straight out of Halloween Town. With Marc Ribot's jangly guitars and Waits' gravelly croon, this album is a treasure trove of eccentricity and raw emotion. A top favorite here at Chattan Records.
